This adorable family is one from the child care center where I work during the days. Their older little guy was in my class and we just adored him! They are some of the sweetest and most laid back people you will ever meet! I had SUCH a good time with them!

So this shoot is the whole reason why I absolutely LOVE what I do. This family is one of the greatest families I have ever had the honor to be a part of (even if it's just for a few more months :(...) But I had to BEST time shooting with them. It was windy and rainy and pretty darn cold, but we made it work! If only you could see what we all went through to get those award winning smiles out of that cute little guy :))

I just had a blast photographing my good friends Jeremy and Andrea and their daughter Ella. I went to school with both Jeremy and Andrea and I was a bridesmaid in their wedding. These two are so adorable and it is so clear that their lives revolve around their beautiful and spunky daughter Ella. What a beautiful family :)) I was so pleased to spend the afternoon hanging out and capturing their moment :))

A few weeks back I got to photograph Christopher's senior photos in downtown Corvallis. It was one of the easiest shoots I have ever had! He was super laid back and did anything I asked him to do :) Chris has the best personality and was super sweet. I was so glad I got to capture him in this moment. We did have to convince him to pull out his guitar. But when he did, he started playing Red Hot Chili Peppers and made my day!! Thanks Chris for being so cool :))

I shot photos yesterday for this really great family, The Olsen's and Jamie said something that kind of stuck with me. Photos are too precious to put off. There was an unexpected death in their family recently and they had had no recent photos with the deceased. It broke their heart. "Life is too short not to laugh and smile," she said. So later that day I took my grubby, dirty from playing kids and shot them just how they were in that moment... Perfect, fun, and mine :) I hope you love these as much as I do cause this is one moment frozen for the rest of time :)

A few weeks ago I had the joy of photographing Alec and Maggie's wedding in Corvallis. They were so laid back and awesome. It was an interesting job for me because not only was the bride my sister's sister-in-law, but I was not the only shooter! I had the pleasure of meeting a photographing couple from Portland. I was hired just for the wedding ceremony and the other shooters would continue on to shoot the reception. It was kind of nice to only be responsible for the ceremony... might add that as an option...

Any way, Thank you Maggie and Alec for trusting me with your very special day. I had a blast!!

I had the great pleasure of photographing the CARDV fun run/walk for the second year! It is always a pleasure rain or shine :) Last year the sun was shining bright, this year... it dumped rain all over us! But the rain did not dampen the spirit of the day or the cause. So many people came out to show their support for the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence. A huge group walked in memory of Kelsey Baker and her young son Theo who were tragically killed in Philomath just over a week ago. It was a great day.

I was out at my mom and dads the other weekend helping them organize some stuff and I (surprise surprise) started to snap some shots of stuff around their property. I got two shots that remind me of my years growing up in the country.

This old truck has been out in the bushes for as long as I can remember. And we moved to this homestead 20 years ago. This always reminded me of my father. Steady, dependable and rooted. And even after years of being beaten by the weather... its still good looking :D

This is my moms Lilac bush. She loves this thing! I have always thought of my mama as a beautiful flower. Sometimes she gets beaten by the weather and some times some one comes by and picks a piece of her off, but she always grows back, as beautiful as before.

I truly believe that that is what a faith in God does for you. You have a belief in a father who loves you more then you could ever know. He firms and roots you, he makes you bloom and grown in ways you never thought possible. I dont know what made me post this blog this morning, but I just wanted to say that my parents are amazing. They brought me up to be firm in my belief about God, to never waiver. They taught me to bloom and grow in the love of Christ and wait for his plans for me.

I love them.

So Friday was my birthday :D It was a blast. I got to take the day off of work and just hang out :D It was so so nice! I had a photo shoot and dinner with my parents. They brought an ice cream cake and we played the Wii :D It was really a great day!

My Baby's Turning 4!

My baby was this little just yesterday! Now he is going to be 4 on Monday :D I cannot believe how fast time flies! Truly! He is so funny. He is exactly the same. So I am thinking of doing something a little crazy... Photography season is blooming and I was thinking of bringing in the season with a bang. I want to offer a crazy special.

My normal session is 1-2 hours, any location, with discs and rights to print for $70.

I want to offer up to 45 minutes, your disc with rights, original and edited pictures for just $35! That is insane!! But I am only offering this special between May 1-31. Meaning you have to book your session with me between those dates.

I have a friend who has a son. His name is Cavan. And Cavan has Lissencephaly. Lissencephaly is a brain dissorder that causes many problems and most children who are born with it rarely live past the age of 2. Cavan is almost 2 1/2. Sandra, his mama, gave me a call right before Christmas to set up some pictures of her little man. This is just a taste of what I have done, but they are truely precious pictures.

So this last sunday I got to shoot my good friend Chelsea and her husband Mark :D We met up at Avery Park, where it was insanely cold and foggy, but still BEAUTIFUL! I have more shots done, but this is just a sneak peek after all :D

Mark wins the most indulgent client award! I asked him to do so much and he just went with it :D

Now I wish I could take creative props for this one, but it was all Chelsea :D That is what makes every shoot different :D

The Night of The Pumpkin Muffins!

Last night I got a craving for pumpkin muffins BIG time. So I pulled out the white cake mix from the cupboard, made it as directed, then added one cup pumpkin puree and one tablespoon pumpkin pie spice. I filled the tins and baked like normal, and I have to say, they turned out awesome! I was very pleased. :D

So I'm on my way out to my good friend Liz's to do some pictures of her adorable children and right as I turn onto the Blodgette/Summet HWY I here this thump,thump,thump. So I pull over and sure enough I had a blown tire. So I call Liz and about 20 min later her and her hubby Rik show up to save the day. So what do I do while I am waiting? Why I grab my camera and start snapping shots :D

But on the plus side, the scenery was fantastic!

Well once we got that fixed and the little toy wheel on my van. I drove like a grandma out to their house and snagged some shots of their kiddos. Here is a teaser of what I have done :D

So I have been in a funk lately and really haven't been doing much photography. But I got the chance to do a shoot with the Olsen Family (who I shot some time last summer) and it was a blast! They just had a new little man Slayde who was 15 weeks premature! He has had a rough ride so far, but he is 8 months and has little to no lingering health problems!! Yay! So I have been reading these blogs and such about how to optimize my shooting so that I dont need to spend so much time editing. One of the thing I wanted to try is the crazy blue sky. I learned a few tricks, like lighting and manual focus and such. Way cool stuff! I am so excited to be learning all this stuff!!

30th Anniversary :D

This last Saturday was my parents' 30th Anniversary party. It was a BLAST!! The weather was warm, the homemade Ice Cream peachy and cold. We just hung out and ate delicious BBQ :D

My dad causing trouble at the pool. Right before he snagged Noah's squirt gun and went postal all over the party :D Ahahha.

It was such a good day! All the grandkids in one place...talk about hectic :D

Okay so I have all the senior shots almost completely edited. I have 2 sets done and just one one last individual set and the group shots. I am trying to get them all done by tomorrow. I have a wedding on Sunday and that is going to swamp me. My good friend Czarina is marrying her soul mate Corey and I get to photograph the whole thing! I am so so super excited!! So it has been a SUPER long time since we have had actual family pictures done. So here they are. My sister was sweet enough to meet us down at Willamette Park in Corvallis and shoot the family ones (basically all the ones with me NOT in it :D) We moved to Avery as well. Busy Day!!

So I had a very busy afternoon! I ended up doing 4 Senior picture sessions all rolled up into one :D These four boys are all really good friends, so we just did all their shots in one session. 3 hours later, my feet are killing me and my clothes have alley gunk on them from laying on the ground in the alley... Yes I am that dedicated :D

So my bestest friend in the world was looking to get some new shots of her beautiful self, and I the photog was more then willing to help :D
Some history:
Nicole and I first met at the Philomath City Park when she was 5 and I was 4. We were having my 4th birthday party and she just happened by (her dad was the park care taker). We have the whole encounter on video tape actually. A few years later (like 5th grade) we became the bestest of friends. We were watching home videos one day and I stuck in the one of my birthday. We watched and all of a sudden Nicole goes 'Thats Me!' and the rest is history :D

Alot of these she told me how to edit. Some are not edited at all! Madness! So I will probably do another post with edited ones :D
